“As you ramble through Life, Brother,
Whatever be your goal.
Keep your eye upon the doughnut,
And not upon the hole.”
I learned the poem above from Dr. Banks over 30 years ago…..the one below I just found when I was looking for the other one.

‘Twixt optimist and pessimist
The difference is droll;
The optimist the doughnut sees –
The pessimist the hole.
