No Courage

Without fear.  I am dismayed by the number of people posting on Facebook PTSD pages wishing that their fear would go away.  No more fear and they believe they would be happy. smiley giving raspberry photo ATT12118551.gif

Without fear there is no need for courage.  Facing fears with courage instills confidence.  Builds self esteem.  Creates awesome “I Can” attitude.  I agree overwhelming fear as a steady diet gets wearing.  Too much too long can lead to numbness and rejecting all feelings.  (Reject feelings includes all of them, can’t pick and choose like ordering off a menu.)

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. Nelson Mandela
